How to Choose an Air Filtration System

Air purification is a critical component of good indoor air quality. A healthy indoor living environment can only be achieved by quality air filtration system. Moreover, indoor air quality has become one of the major concerns of the Environmental Protection Agency. The following important points are to be considered before selecting an air filtration system.

PERMANENT INSTALLATION

One of the solutions is to select a filtration system installed on the furnace or central air conditioning system. Depending on the size of your house, the needs of your family, and cost of installation are also to be considered.

PORTABLE UNITS

The other option is the portable unit which is rated according to the amount of space they affect. But, this system has some limitations like, it will only clean air that actually passes through it and if you want them to be really effective then you should create enough air flow to exchange the air in that space five or six times an hour. The type of filtration or purification process should be chosen based upon the kind of contaminants in the specific home. In wet climates, select a system that will destroy mold spores. For a home with children, a method of purification that kills most bacteria or viruses would be a wise choice. Cost of an air cleaner is another criterion but, considering your health and environment it should not be a big issue.
